Meta SearchSearching many databases simultaneously and associating the results.
 
Meta Search EngineSearch engines that performs meta search. Example: Go2net.com.
 
Meta TagHTML commands placed in the head section of an HTML document. The popular meta tags are Meta Keywords (under a group of keywords related to a webpage), and Meta Description(describe the webpage and displayed in the serps). Example:
 
MirrorSiteDuplicate copy of a web site with a separate url. They are difficult to get indexed by SE. Search engines considered them as spamming.
 
Natural listingListing of a site in search engine result pages without any payment.
 
NewHooThe initial name of the ODP (Open Directory Project).
 
ObfuscationThis technique is similar to that of cloaking.Meta tags or contents of a page are presented in a wrong way. A normal looking page is presented to the user but not submitted to search engines. This causes the page to rank low on search engines.

Open Directory Project (ODP)A directory initially known as NewHoo, run by human volunteer editors. The ODP is used by many search engines and www.dmoz.org itself.
 
Opt-InEmail marketing program used by websites that allows users in receiving information from webmasters (owner of websites).
 
Opt-OutEmail marketing program in which users assumes a permission to send emails to everyone who has not precisely specified that they do not want to receive such emails.
 
Outbound LinkLink that point from your website to webpages of different domains.
 
OvertureThe Pay Per Click advertising program by Yahoo. In 2005 it is renamed to Yahoo! Search Marketing.
